London reports reach of a coal ration order as Britain moves toward a general strike led by coal miners. Measures cap private coal use, threaten widespread stoppages with military and labor leaders predicting ship and transport disruption across the country and beyond.

London dispatch reports four killed and 49 wounded in Warsaw during clashes between Socialists and communists on May Day. A Hyde Park confrontation between fascists and communists was halted by police amid a missile exchange as mounted officers intervened.
In South Orange New Jersey on May 1, Mary Lelong three and her brother Louis fourteen died from burns when a toy motion picture machine exploded during a domestic show for their friends. Mary died within hours and Louis followed two hours later.
Hazel Willison, 16, a tall high school student, vanished from 1233 Park Avenue last Monday. Police and officials have failed to locate her, though her brother Augustus reports a possible sighting in Canton Wednesday night and says she is in Canton.
In Augusta Maine Chief Arthur Fields and state highway police forced entry into Kennebec county hall to install John M Eastman as sheriff. Four deputies and former Sheriff Henry F Cummings were arrested for resisting officers. Governor Brewster backed the action as legal.
New York May 1 Miss Bebe Daniels motion picture star was thrown from a horse while riding in Central Park suffering a slight concussion and severe bruises. She was said to be resting comfortably at Harbor private hospital with physicians reporting no cause for alarm. The horse shied and pitched her over its head landing on her shoulders and back.
Cleveland May 1 Lake Erie claimed its first swimming victim of the year when George Bolmar 13 drowned while swimming with two other lads. The body was recovered about an hour later.
Hayden Shrider 65 a prominent Thornville area farmer was found dead in a thicket near his home in NEW LEXINGTON OH after days of search. A .32 caliber revolver lay nearby with a bullet through his brain. Friends and searchers had pursued him since Tuesday.
Joseph Sell of Peru Indiana was fatally scalded when two locomotives collided in the freight yard of the Wabash railroad in Fort Wayne. He was trapped in wreckage and died before rescue could reach him. The incident occurred late this afternoon.
Richard Reese Whittemore arrived in Baltimore shackled to two detectives amid a large crowd at a railway station. The arch bandit, known as the "Candy Kid," is brought back to face trial in his native state for the slaying of a prison guard. A 40 year old unidentified man was struck and killed by a speeding car on busy St Clair Avenue. The driver failed to stop after dragging the victim about 75 feet before leaving the scene. Police were investigating the fatal crash.

Interurban cars were stored in barns, halting service with no disorders reported. Union leaders, including Edward McMorrow, failed to reach an agreement late Saturday night in Akron.
