Frustrated by a sudden shift in a proposed charter clause during Friday hearing, the committee paused to reconsider a section about specific offices. A plan for free garbage collection was amended, and a special election provision was tied to funding and eligibility disputes as the group plans further review with the committee of 15.
Harry 8 Schilling, former mayor, moved from city to county government after handing city hall keys to Art R. Turnbull. He promptly sought a deputy sheriff post, sheriff Oberlin endorsed him, and a badge was pinned on his coat along with a commission.

Bricklayers in Canton local pushed into effect the new pay scales starting May first. They will earn 65 cents per hour with a 2 1/2 cent raise and 74 cents per hour for brick blocks laid above grade. The block rate faced opposition from brick makers, but employers expect little impact as block work is used sparingly.
The Ohio case against Susan T Seed a South Cleveland ay chiropractor charged with practicing medicine and surgery without a license continued after defense lawyers McCarty Hartwell moved to dismiss. Judge Krrchbaum overruled the motion and testimony resumed with plaintiff before lunch and defense testimony starting in the afternoon.
