An all day Senate debate on the Knox resolution ends with a 49 to 23 vote in favor. The measure would repeal the congressional declaration of war between the United States and Germany and Austria-Hungary, amidst controversy over the League of Nations.

W C Greene a boarder at Mrs Davis 733 McKinley Ave SW was arrested late Saturday by Detectives Pilcher and Biffle on carrying concealed weapons charges. It is alleged Mrs Davis ordered Greene to leave, he refused stole a loaded revolver and threatened to shoot her. He faces arraignment Monday before Police Judge Bowman.
Paris reports a hostile reception in French official circles to Premier Lloyd George’s proposal for seven more days for Germany to meet indemnity terms. The Tempo calls the British plan a delay and urges a firm shift to guaranteed payment, noting the May 1, 1929 deadline set by allies.

George Joseph Rathke two year old son of Mr and Mrs George Rathke of 1627 Harrison ay SW drowned after falling into an old four year old excavation beside his home Saturday evening. His hat was seen on the water by Gertrude Robbins who alerted others and the body was recovered within three minutes. The death is reported to be in a foot of murky water and the body was placed in the care of J P Maughtman undertaking parlors pending funeral plans.
A truck carrying 7500 dollars worth of whiskey collided with B and O train No. 6 at Schenka crossing Dutlereco, 25 miles from Cincinnati. Train passengers swarmed the wreck, pistol threats from drivers failed to stop them, and they plundered pint bottles of bonded whiskey amid the embankment debris.
Stark County officials announce no red flag parade will be held on May Day Sunday. Sheriff Cathon vows extensive deputy presence and readiness with additional personnel and equipment to handle any potential disturbances amid warnings from radical groups and inflammatory pamphlets in immigrant neighborhoods.
