In Columbus on March 31 the House extended its session to April 18 after dispatching about 90 bills. Four unidentified gunmen robbed Chester Henninger of $9.50 at Brumbaugh Lumber yard near Twelfth Street NE and the W and L tracks. Police logged reports of personal property theft including a car meter from R M Church in North Canton and a spare tire from Lee Vaught on Garfield Avenue SW Wednesday night.
Alina Leinenweber files for divorce from Joseph F. Leinenweber charging neglect and absence and seeks custody of their minor daughter. Attorney A. W. Agler represents her in Massillon case filed Thursday. A brief note on a used player piano appears amid notices.
Washington March 31 The Revenue Commissioner authorized retail druggists to withdraw wine and whiskey from bonded warehouses to meet patient needs. Ducts limit raised from five cases to 100 gallons every three months with proof of necessity. The move liberalizes dry rules following Palmer guidance and signals further regulation to come.
The state industrial commission has approved plans for two Y M C A branches a northeast and a southwest site. Bids will be received April 15 at the association building and work is to start soon with completion aimed for early autumn.
Ten thousand mourners in rain paid final respects at Cardinal Gibbons in Baltimore. Creenbaugh, Gold berg, Berger and Abdanie arrested for Crabbe act violations. two gallons found in a waiting car to be heard Friday before Police Judge Bowman.

Copper wire worth 500 dollars stolen Wednesday night from the Ohio Bell Telephone Co. warehouse in Schroyeray SW. Detectives Pilcher and Hiffle recovered it Thursday noon at Earl Kame's home, 1452 Allenay SE. Kame and Ray Gonder, 1494 Allenay SE, were arrested and charged with burglary and larceny. They face hearings Friday before Police Judge Howman.
A city wide memorial celebration will feature morning exercises at City Auditorium, a 2 pm parade to Westlawn Cemetery, and 30 minute services by four veteran groups at the cemetery. A Sunday service at First Presbyterian precedes Memorial Day events. The general committee lists Alfred Garner as chair with multiple subcommittees and inviting other patriotic groups to participate.
Seven persons were seriously injured when sewer gas exploded in the cellar of Rev. William Langston’s home at 14 North Westay Amone. A house was demolished and windows were shattered for blocks. Injured include Mrs. William Coleman Mrs Ethel Longford and daughter Bether Mrs Rose ONeill and a unnamed boy. Ambulances rushed victims to hospitals. manhole covers were thrown blocks away.
County commissioners did not award the Bel deonay bridge contract on Wednesday as bid tabulations in the engineer's office showed the Standard Construction Co. was not the low bidder. Action likely on Friday to resolve the bid dispute.
An agreement to lower lighting rates was reached in a meeting with the Council utilities committee. The plan would take effect April 1 and may be temporary with further reductions possible as conditions warrant. The change targets classes of consumers previously subject to a rate increase, while some will remain unchanged. The adjustment uses a sliding scale and increases the proportional reduction with higher consumption.
Howard F E Welsh of 1239 Louisiana Ave NW was injured when two men posing as Akron deputy sheriffs tried to drive off in a reportedly stolen car. Welsh leapt onto the running board to questions the pair and was thrown from the vehicle as it sped away. He sustained a bruised and lacerated left leg and other minor injuries.
Lloyd S S D Byers sued Glen Yarnell for auto damage after a collision while waiting near Canton. The defendant proved to be the wrong man. Byers identified George Yarnell, a cousin, as the actual driver. The suit was halted and a new suit filed against George Yarnell.
Judge Ake’a room returned a verdict for the defendant in the suit by Jim Nichaloff and Ethel Young against Wheeling and Lake Erie railroad. A taxicab owned by the plaintiffs was demolished by a shifting engine near United Furnace Co plant. Ithaca New York March 31 Lieut J A MacReady army chief test pilot who crashed at 9000 feet while testing a Thomas Morse pursuit plane landed with a bruised elbow and kept his engagement at the Ithaca Airplane club banquet saying after the wreck that the machine was wrecked but Tom all right Aviation men rushed to the scene expecting his death and found him hanging head downward in the cockpit before release.
