Seven killed as Big Four train strikes car in Columbus
A Columbus crash between Big Four No. 11 and a car at Oakland Park Avenue killed seven or eight people and injured at least 14. The Hemminger family perished in the auto. several train crew and passengers were among the injured while searchers recovered victims from the wreckage. The train, late and traveling about 70 miles an hour, toppled the engine, tender, and four sleeping coaches.
