Harry Keatley a 17 year old youth jailed on burglary charges denied Monday that he confessed to detectives about the Rate butcher shop robbery in Market avenue and several other crimes he is accused of. He claimed the only burglary he participated in was stealing about 50 pairs of shoes from a box car and that he never drove the car used in the Rate robbery or was taught by James J. Gardner to steal.

Police and health officials investigate after owners report prize pets dead in Union and Patterson avenues and surrounding streets. Rewards offered as casualty toll mounts and more pets are found poisoned in alleys and yards.
