Flooded Massillon endures fire risk, thirst and sickness as water pumps fail and gas and electricity vanish. Refugees fill church dormitories while volunteers and city leaders strive to feed clothe and shelter needy residents amid ongoing cold and darkness.
In many districts famine fears ease while troops consolidate control and pestilence wanes. Reports say deadly estimates decline as relief efforts reach affected areas and hunger relief programs expand amid stabilizing conditions.
Canton has raised 15000 in cash and piled three carloads of food and clothing awaiting coupling at Cummins Storage, with donors flocking to assist Dayton Columbus and Zanesville flood victims. A 13 year old girl donated a doll and clothing to comfort affected children. Supplies will be sent via the Big Four to Columbus under Governor Cox relief oversight, while rail transport limits delay shipments.
A charity flood relief concert will be held Sunday at 7 30 PM in the Auditorium under the Business Men's Association. The Grand Army band donates services. soloists include Mrs Harry March and Mrs Wm H Smith. a mixed quartet features Mrs W H Smith M A Spelman and Robert Hurford. Robert Hurford Fred Mackay and W I Baehrens join as a quartet. Anna Bolus piano also participates. The Auditorium is lent by W A Hoberdier and Louis Hoberdier who canceled a picture show and leased the venue for the evening. Admission at popular prices.

The Needlework guild requests no more clothing be sent to Cummins storage for flood sufferers until current stock is used. Storage rooms are full and more items arrive daily. Donations should shift to food, especially cereals and perishable foods, as food is in urgent demand. If garments run low a new call will be issued.
