Canton schools reveal their worst financial straits to date as J H Lehman of the board of education discusses strains tied to scrutiny of board expenditures by State Tax Commissioner James Boyle. Boyle cited observations on alleged extravagance and current funding gaps as Canton faces fiscal pressure.
D. D. Donohue and Mrs Myrtle town bound over to federal grand jury on narcotics charges for possessing morphine unlawfully. Witness Ed Brown held. bond set at 1500 each. Officials describe raid on Donohue rooms Piedmont Ave NE revealing morphine powder liquid and hypodermic tablets.

The case against six accused fortune tellers moves forward as Mrs Lilian Manderbaugh and Miss Velva Benson, police matron witnesses, are set to testify on Tuesday. Arrested defendants sought affidavits from the matron witnesses who told fortunes. The two witnesses were not present for Saturday arraignments but will appear on the stand in the trial alongside the defendants.

He says the legislature was economical and that the last constitutional convention was less economical, noting Maynard and Donahey belong to opposing political camps.
