The Cole-Brant Co a new corporation with a $190000 charter plans an eight story fireproof office and mercantile building on the northeast corner of Cleveland Av NW and Tuscarawas St W in Cleveland. The project will include six stores on the first floor and two street facades with a 97 year lease. A parallel plan proposes widening Cleveland Ave NW by 24 feet across both sides of the street to Second St NW, with paving to begin after construction.
The senate temperance committee urged passage of Senator McCoy's bill nullifying Talmer's beer ruling by prohibiting sales of beer whiskey and other stimulants except pure grain alcohol for medicinal purposes. The house tabled a rival bill to revive workers compensation liability insurance.
