The public library trustees plan to place small book cases in schools to create branch libraries. A librarian will oversee after school hours on selected nights, with books aimed at younger readers and some for adults. Virgil C. Pettit, an architect with long building experience, was chosen by the city board of education to succeed J. W. Cares as building superintendent. Alliance authorities investigate a Brotherhood sect led by George Panner with ties to a Cleveland leader. A girl died after being taken to Alliance City Hospital following admission to the sect home at 221 Hartshorn Street. Doctors suspect possible poisoning or dire medical conditions from an alleged illegal operation. Police report the Brotherhood house housed four men and women under George's teaching as they await further tests and a potential arrest expansion.
