Federal officers arrested two men described as runners for a Detroit Cleveland narcotics ring after a two mile car chase. A search of their vehicle uncovered drugs. A 17 year old Michigan City girl led authorities to the ring, saying leaders offered commissions to girls who delivered drugs.
Authorities in South Bend Indiana report the mutilated body of Mrs Roman Luczowski aged 45 found in her home in a wooden box. Her husband 21 year old Martin Grzesczk led police to the scene and accused the husband of the murder.
The house adjourned late Friday out of respect for Senator Ferris a Democrat from Michigan and adopted a resolution expressing sorrow over his death. A committee of 18 was appointed by Speaker Longworth to attend the funeral with the senate committee.
Four people were hurt across Canton in late Friday and Saturday incidents. One man, Pete Phillips, 40, suffered a fractured skull and is in Mercy Hospital in serious condition after stepping into a truck driven by Joe Williams. William Curry, 38, was found with a severe scalp wound and bruises in Alliance after being struck while crossing Cherry Street. Two children, both six, Jack McCord and Jack Mickel, suffered minor injuries in separate collisions. In Bryan, Joseph Hilbert was killed when struck by a freight train at a grade crossing. In Upper Sandusky, four injured in a late collision include Franklin Crawford, 60, and Mrs. John Pearce, 25, with two others seriously hurt.
