Born in Portland Indiana he lived in Canton thirty years and is survived by his wife and one daughter Mrs Howard R Kahler and three sisters in Portland. Fire damages Skeele flats at Market and Reynolds
Fire from crossed basement wires damaged the John Skeeles apartments at Market avenue and Reynolds street on Wednesday morning. Firemen battled flames for over an hour as the blaze spread through partitions to several flats. A stairway to upper floors was torn out to reach the fire. Mrs. Frank Hamel’s apartment sustained the most damage. Chief Maesnar blamed improper switchboard wiring and urged stricter building regulations and fire limits in Canton. Estimated losses exceed $600.
