Juvenile Judge Krichbaum seeks to establish a county fund under the 1913 law after an attorney general opinion reversed. county commissioners will explore transferring surplus from regular funds to create a mothers pension fund. Cora Rackle and charity workers will help identify eligible needy mothers for aid.
Homer Lindaman danced with Phillip Noel's girl at a Saturday night dance. Noel and Lindaman fought, provoking a disturbance on the dance floor. Lindaman paid a $10 fine in police court. Noel failed to appear, forfeiting $10 bail and facing a later hearing on disturbing the peace.
Probate Judge Krichbaum issued an order appointing Dr. T Marshall of Beach City as administrator to settle a district court suit in Cleveland against the W L E railroad. Walter Shanklin, killed by a W L E train last March, spurred a $10 000 damages suit against the railroad.
Byron Loutzenheiser manager of the Williams hotel Marketav N was arraigned before Judge Ake in common pleas court Monday on a contempt of court charge for failing to pay alimony to his wife after a prior court order Loutzenheiser appeared without an attorney and defended himself. The court deferred judgment. Canton Cleveland.
Government forecast indicates a pair of days with colder Tuesday conditions. Yesterday’s observations showed temperatures around mid 40s to mid 50s with a low near 46 and a high near 54. Royal Blend Coffee advertisement promotes its fine flavor. An evangelist sermon at Trinity formed church is noted for Tuesday evening.
Attorneys for Novelty Cutlery Co oppose suit by Canton Cutlery Co claiming the case is an advertising scheme. Judge Day’s division is asked to dismiss the damages suit as baseless. The Carnes and Vignes families own the rival firms, with Blackiston named as Carnes sales manager. The petition allegedly included superior quality language to aid publicity. Evidence will show Blackiston bought newspapers carrying the story.
Columbus reports a broadcast letter from an apparent Ohio News Bureau asking tax assessors for their preference between Governor Cox and Congressman John J. Whitacre for the gubernatorial nomination. The sender's identity is in doubt. Cox denies involvement and says assessors received copies, while County Tax Commissioner Moore says he has not seen the letter.
Socialists from Stark County cities and towns met in Canton to form a county organization. John Meckartan was chosen county organizer with Totten of Alliance as eastern assistant and John Cowmeadow of Massillon as western assistant. L. L. WoWery was named secretary treasurer, with a county convention set for April 26 at Socialist hall Grand Opera House. McCartan to coordinate with other district socialist groups on congressional nomination timing.
Safety Director Kunkel will ask the council Monday to enact two ordinances urged by Fire Chief Mesnar. One targets unlawful rubber hose use on gas stoves after findings of eight movable stoves in a boarding house and risky setups. The other strengthens rubbish disposal penalties and requires oily waste to go into galvanized receptacles.
A stranger with a strange, creepy look attended a Lenten communion at St Pauls Episco pal on 4th Street and Cleveland. He walked in during the service with heavy tread startling worshippers and sat in a front pew before approaching the chancel after the service. Verne Mitchell and Homer Giessen noted concerns about the man as they left the church.

Massillon Ohio March 16 former mayor and state representative Bernard Bell died of a palsy at his home after a career as a brass worker glass factory hand and union official. He served as mayor from 1902 to 1906 was justice of the peace and later a state representative from Stark County 1909 to 1913. Funeral Wednesday at St Marys church with burial in St Josephs cemetery. Survivors include his mother Elizabeth Hell and brothers Frederick and Stephen M Bell.
Father Terndorff of Georgetown University reports that his seismographs did not record any earthquake tremors despite reports from St Ignatius university.
Members are called to the hall this evening at seven to arrange attendance at the funeral of Brother Arnold Stuchi. The notice requests Red Men to gather for planning and coordination of the event.
