Cleveland March 15 Officials planned an airplane search for John Corlett sixteen missing after a Bay Village accident. His father Martin J. Corlett heading search parties chartered a plane to be piloted by Lieut. James Prosser to sweep from the accident site toward Lorain and Elyria.
Capt Harland W. Robinson of the steamer Robert E. Lee told a board of federal inspectors he assumed full responsibility for the stranding on the Mary Ann reef after last Friday's snow storm. He said he was in the pilot house but did not know why the vessel left the usual course toward the Cape Cod canal.
Robert W. Stewart pled not guilty to four counts of contempt of the Senate after appearing before Chief Justice Walter I. McCoy in the District of Columbia Supreme Court. The indictment stems from his refusal to testify to the Teapot Dome committee about Liberty Bond profits linked to the Continental Trading Co. The oil executive and his lawyers requested a 20 day delay in trial date.
Washington reports a last minute surge as about 500 000 taxpayers have yet to file. Some 4 000 000 already filed with penalties looming for late returns. Officials forecast March receipts around 480 million dollars, down from the prior year. Exemptions are 1500 for single filers 3500 for married couples and 400 per dependent. Any gross income of 5000 or more requires a return.
