A local class play at McKinsey High School featured A L Oscar who lent a high quality lamp. The lamp was damaged when an actor tangled in a cord, leaving the cast to pay damages. Receipted bill satisfied their generosity and support from A L Oscar remains noted.
Patrolman George Fromm wounded alleged auto thief Lawrence Langanke alias Skeesix Lang on Cleveland Ave SW near 2nd St. Langanke fled a Studebaker coach, was hit in the back with a bullet puncturing a lung and ribs, and is in serious condition at Mercy Hospital. Langanke, 31, faces grand larceny charges for stealing from F A Kelley Massillon. A police guard remains at his bedside as Reiss and Fromm, aided by others, pursue the case and review Langanke’s prior criminal history in Columbus records.
Prosecuting Attorney Harter and Detective Slater expect Pat McDermott to disclose new leads after meeting in Columbus. McDermott, called the murder's key man, has hinted he will name eight former police associates and implicate Louis Mazer and others in the Mellett killing.
In Columbus Ohio on March 16 Mary O Hara, fifteen, was treated at Mt Carmel hospital for a bullet wound near her heart. Police say she attempted self harm due to recent poor high school grades.

The Union Hotels Co of New Castle Pa leases the New Barnett Hotel at Tuscarawas and Cherry in New Philadelphia Ohio for a long term. The 159 room hostelry will be remodeled and refurbished. The Union chain operates eight hotels in total, with personal supervision by Saul Leff and Alexander Silverman. Legal work was handled by Joseph M. Blake.

He was a Lehman high freshman and member of the United Brethren Bible school. He is survived by his parents and brother Virgil. The body lies at Spiker's funeral rooms. arrangements pending.
