Early electrification of the Nickel Plate railroad through Cleveland to beyond Rocky River was believed certain today after the Van Sweringen controlled line announced an agreement with Rocky River authorities for a new four track viaduct over Blount Road at a cost of 262600 dollars. Dayton March 10. After a running battle in which more than a score of shots were fired over two miles, Steffanos Gelinge polus, 39, was held in the county jail charged with shooting with intent to kill and carrying concealed weapons. He terrorized residents in upper Dayton View by firing through house windows where his wife was thought to be hiding, then forced a truck driver to speed away as deputies closed in.
Clarendon Va March 10 Representative Harold Knutson of Minnesota was jailed and denied bail after a late night arrest on a rural road with Leroy Hull 29 an alleged Department of Justice employee. They were arraigned and pleaded not guilty to a grave moral offense. Officers found Knutson’s car along the Alexandria road and searched it as he urged privacy.
In Youngstown on Woodland Avenue Joseph Gorski, 19, cleaned a pistol in a front room. His six year old brother Frank entered and a discharged round pierced the room striking the boy. The child was gravely injured and may die.
