Washington reports urged pursuit of Francisco Villa into Mexican territory. Gen. Funston requests authority to cross into Mexico to stop bandits raiding American towns while Pershing notes Mexican consul in El Paso supports action and will seek government cooperation. US troops along the border remain on American soil awaiting orders.
Harvey Loehr Co after incorporation in Columbus announces 200 homes to be erected in Canton during spring and summer. The new firm will engage in general contracting retail lumber and building supplies with capital of 60000 dollars. Fellow investors include Clark Brumbaugh Harrison Bowles and Ed Williams all of Canton.
Safety Director Kunkel announced five policemen and seven firemen will be appointed from an eligible list after civil service examinations Friday afternoon. Appointments to be made immediately. The civil service physician will be chosen after an examination next Friday. Kunkel favors a surgeon chosen by the commission.
Canton faced a forty mile gale Thursday night lasting from 10 PM to near dawn. The cold intensified as the temperature dropped to 25 degrees and remained at 25 by 6 AM with forecasts for a further fall.
