A German sister-in-law of George Gordon of Barnett hotel writes that there is no coffee or coal. She tried to convey the price of an article on a mailed card, but the censor blue penciled the message.
Officials believed an error occurred when a deed was signed in the name Maud M. Arnold husband. Investigation showed the signature correct identifying Maud as the wife of Maud M. Arnold, a W. and L. FE conductor of 529 4th RNW.
In Newark New Jersey March 8 pupils at a public school strike against singing The Star Spangled Banner. After the announcement the class remained silent and walked out after hours while a small child whistled Die Wacht am Rhine. The school serves a German American district and local social leaders demand action.

An advertisement announces a $155000 loaned to 900 persons as the basis of credit through the Canton Morris Plan Bank. It also promotes an Auditorium Dance Saturday Night with good comic pictures and 5 cent admission, and a Phi Sigma Dance on Saturday evening March 10 featuring the Norwood Moots orchestra.
Federal authorities map arrests nationwide after papers tie Dr Zimmerman to a German spy system. Documents show Zimmerman backed payments and conspiracies, including a Wilhelmstrasse office reference. Arrests planned in New York, California, Oregon, Washington, Panama, Guam, Philippines.

Holmes Automobile Co formed as a 2,500,000 corporation to manufacture a Canton made motor car. The plan includes a 250,000 factory, initial 400 to 500 skilled workers, and output of about 4,000 cars in year one with potential shift to commercial vehicles later.
