Berlin reports fatal clashes between Spartacists and government troops as a general strike triggers state of siege. Police stations attacked, looting reported, and thousands of idle workers fill streets while three divisions reinforce the garrison.
Corporal Gottlie Bruegger of Company B 147th Infantry 37th Division returned to New York aboard the Olympic. He earned the Belgian war cross from King Albert for capturing three machine guns and four German gunners on the last day of World War I November 11. He recounted crawling from the bushes to surprise a lone gunner and force surrender, then locating and detaining the others before injuries sent him to Dunkirk evacuation hospital No. 5.
The Red Cross with the United States Employment Service launches a re adjustment plan for millions of veterans. Each returning soldier will be interviewed to assess job fit and opportunities. Eugene V. Bullet of the Home Service explains the effort to place every veteran in suitable work.

John Siegenthaler track foreman testified that Marfatino worked at 6 a m and was excused three hours later due to illness. The murder occurred about 7 a m, according to testimony.

He stated that his speeches will be understood by the public and that responsibility for blocked legislation rests with the public and not politicians.
