In pretrial proceedings a gun fight in New Jersey court leads to boy witnesses testifying that men urged them to steal in stores. The complaint asks that the fourteenth amendment be declared of no effect.

A Roumanian man Nick Zermerran forty five died and two men John Benan and John Nister were found unconscious in a closed sleeping room early Thursday as a flueless gas stove burned at full capacity. Neighbors freed them in time to save their lives. coroner T C McQuate warned against gas stoves in sleeping rooms.
Five Greeks were taken in a raid Wednesday night at 628 Cherry Ave SE by Detectives Herdiicka and Skotnicki. They were arraigned Thursday before Police Judge Bowman on suspicion charges. One was fined $25 and costs, two $10 and costs, one received a 30 day suspended workhouse sentence, and another unspecified penalty. Detectives said the gang operated in southeast end coffee houses and were not employed.
At Ridgerd and 12th street NE a taxi bus carrying two passengers was struck by a Cadillac coupe causing the bus to overturn. Mrs. J A Black of 1437 Ridgerd NW sustained head and body bruises while an elderly man suffered a severe head cut. Bus driver Joseph Jacobs escaped injury. All three occupants were in the car at the time.
