Mr X, the Canton Daily News mystery man, forged a ring at American Forge & Machine Co. in Canton. He produced a three inch wide ring with an inside diameter of 20 inches and an outside diameter of 25 inches but fell short by a quarter inch, earning only a technical victory.
The navy found parts of the amphibian plane four miles south of Cape Charles City Virginia on the Chesapeake Bay. The rudder and starboard stabilizer matched the missing airmen’s aircraft, suggesting a fatal crash between Hampton Roads and Annapolis.
The Canton Chamber of Commerce airfield plan failed after a special session with nine nays and four ayes. General Emilio Kosterlitzky aged 75 died at his Los Angeles home after a long illness. Once known as the Mailed Fist of Porfirio Diaz he was born in Moscow to a naval officer and later served in Diaz's army leading campaigns against rebels.
Otto Bihl mire and his wife Mr Sammy Bihlmire were detained in Baroda Michigan and questioned by Postal Inspector K P Aldrich in Chicago about the $133000 mail train robbery at Evergreen Park the previous Saturday.
J. J. McGraw a 54 year old Tulsa man and prominent Oklahoma Republican National Committeeman died at his home in Hot Springs Arkansas at 3 45 am after an illness and operation. He was born August 21 1874 in Leavenworth Kansas and was decorated with the Legion of Honor for World War service. His burial will be in Tulsa with family present at his death.
Two aviators were seriously injured when their plane nosedived from an altitude of 50 feet at the Pittsburgh airport yesterday. Agge Y Mills, 19, student aviator, was at the controls and suffered serious internal injuries. Leonard Peterson, 25, instructor, received a fractured jaw, several rib fractures, and internal injuries.
Ottawa Ohio March 3 Joseph Shinavare 38 shot his wife Hattie 38 at their Gibba Ohio home last night and killed himself after a violent struggle neighbors found Mrs Shinavare dead and her husband dying he had also slashed his throat Jealousy named as motive the home a disorderly scene with torn rugs and broken furniture
Washington reports Prohibition Commissioner Doran appoints O. D. Jackson permanent prohibition administrator for Louisiana Alabama Mississippi and Northwest Florida. Jackson had served as acting administrator for over a year in the district.
Senator Heflin of Alabama denounces humorist Will Rogers calling him a coin hunting lumberjack from California who will say anything for sweetening in his coffee. Heflin says the venal humorist is an abomination in the sight of the Lord.
Mrs. Evangeline Lodge Lindbergh departed Boston airport at 8 01 a m for Detroit. Accompanying her were Miss Maude Dawson of Cass Tech High School Detroit Lieut Albert F Wiegenberger pilot and Lieut Harry Johnson relief pilot aboard the Ford tri motor monoplane.

On the Ohio River near Point Pleasant three men died when a throttle blew out in the boiler room of the Senator Cordill just before midnight. Chief engineer George McElhose and first assistant engineer George Lippman were killed, boil maker Roy Roe died of injuries, and Captain George Beagle was severely scalded but alive, with one day expected to be critical. The ship owned by Shippers Packet Co. of Pittsburgh had just resumed voyage to Pittsburgh after repairs.
Senators Edge of New Jersey and Fess of Ohio were breakfast guests of President Coolidge today in Washington.
U S district attorney's office staff were questioned by a house sub committee about alleged immunity to bootleggers who would testify against a policeman accused of hijacking a liquor truck in Washington. Representative Blanton cited the immunity promise during dramatic prohibition incidents in the house.
Mrs Goodhue, mother of Mrs Calvin Coolidge, 78, is described as gradually weakening after an influenza attack. Doctors see little chance of recovery though no immediate danger was noted, as Mrs Elmira Goodhue visits were paid by her daughter.

A 22 year old woman in Baltimore attempted suicide by poison after a Tampa husband letter. The taxi driver, who moved her around the city and took her to Maryland General Hospital, prevented her death. She remains hospitalized in stable condition.
In Peoria Illinois on March 2 1930 Opal Huteldt age 24 refused to surrender on a prohibition law violation charge. She shot herself and died at the scene leaving no immediate accomplices or witnesses.
