Vogt relinquished Massillon mayoral office to M P L Kirchoffer amid legal maneuvering after Gov. Donahey removed him for alleged failure to enforce law. Attorneys weigh Supreme Court challenge while records and salary are disputed.
Alex Gilanca filed a motion asking a court to set aside his conviction after police found 21 barrels of wine in his garage. He claims the barrels contained unfit vinegar and grapefruit juice mixed with his and others property and that no alcohol was produced. Judge Bowman convicted him, fined 600 dollars and ordered destruction of the wine. Attorney Ug S Johnston represents him.
Three persons are injured, none seriously, when the Delaware and Lackawanna ferry Maplewood collided with a New York Central tug as the ferry neared its Manhattan slip after a Hoboken trip.
Earl Hinske reports a bandit robbed him of his car and money in Euclidary and threw him from the vehicle. The assailant fled with two young women as passengers, according to Hinske at police headquarters.
The forecast calls for rain late tonight across Ohio with a cold snap by Sunday. Conditions turn chillier especially in the north and east portions tonight and into Sunday morning.

The motor ship Babinda burned at sea off Santa Cruz 140 miles south of San Francisco. About 20 crew members were rescued by the steamer Celilo after the fire began at 3 45 a m in the Babinda engine room en route from Astoria to San Pedro with lumber. The SOS was broadcast 25 minutes after the blaze started and all aboard abandoned ship.
Zulu and Hulu two chow dogs will today act as jury in the investigation into the murder of Frederick Schneider their master. Their barks or silence will help the Bronx district attorney determine if the wealthy contractor was slain by an intimate or by a stranger.
Margaret Cragin of Cincinnati files alienation suit in Akron seeking 25000 from Frances Carlton alleged to have enticed Arthur T. Cragin away from his wife and child on December 1. Carlton's address is unknown.
Washington March 3 Dozens of dollars higher pay for senators and house members is proposed by Rep Upshaw Democrat Georgia raising annual pay to 10000 from 7500. He warned many members would need to borrow to cover home costs after sessions. The measure is unlikely to pass this session.

Perry J. Long of Canton was passed over for the northern district of Ohio U S attorney job. Atty A E Bernsteen of Cleveland was named Friday, succeeding Ed Hertz of Wooster who held the post since Wilsonian years and into Harding. Long had directed the 1921 Republican municipal campaign in Canton.
William Vogt and Edward Swegheimer were lightly injured when the truck they rode in collided with a street car near Marxet avenue S by the Pennsylvania station. The crash occurred as a southbound street car stopped and a following auto swerved, forcing the truck into the northbound street car. Both men were taken to Mercy hospital with cuts and bruises.
Val Cook and David Jarow posted bond in common pleas court to appear for trial on liquor charges Friday following sheriff and state men raids Thursday that netted 23 arrests. State men filed affidavits alleging the men sold liquor. Over 30 cases of alleged Crabbe act violations are set for trial Friday.
In Wildwood New Jersey Mrs Emma McKeown 39 was shot and killed as she nursed her 11 month old. Police say Frederick Ellinger who boarded at the home committed the murder. He escaped. Police raided a Cherry Avenue and Third Street gambling house three times in 18 hours arresting ten men on suspicion. They were released on $300 bonds and arraigned Saturday with hearings set for Tuesday. Capt Swope and detectives led the operation. the venue had seen two earlier raids Friday with 28 arrests and 21 fines.
