Northern Ohio transit franchise drafted for 10 years
The city transportation commission will recommend to the city council a 10 year exclusive bus franchise to Northern Ohio Power & Light Co. with a 10 cent cash fare or five tickets for 35 cents. The plan calls for elimination of certain traction lines and installation of high capacity buses on those routes. A five member joint commission will govern enforcement with a transportation commissioner hired by the traction company but selected by the city. A rehabilitation of bus lines and new routes are planned along with universal transfers and adjusted schedules.
