Washington June 25 An official history of the United States entry into the European war titled How the War Came to America has been issued by the committee on public information. It reveals Count Von Bernstorff begged delay for peace talks and that armed guards were not placed on ships until after his Berlin visit. It notes Lansing’s remark on the approaching war and a warned neutrality, with the German threat linked to renewed submarine warfare.
John Zazo of McDonaldsville is held on $500 bail after being bound over to federal court for alleged threats to provoke a revolution against the United States. He was arrested Monday, charged with threatening the U S with revolution and disrupting the village, and awaits disposition before United States Commissioner Whiting. A 22 year old man was murdered in a west end Boston hotel room. He was stabbed in the throat and his heart was cut from his chest and left on the floor beside the bed. Four young men described as foreigners from New York occupied the room since June and are unnamed suspects.
About 100000 patriotic spectators gathered along the sands of Atlantic City New Jersey as a Liberty bathing girl made her debut in a blue costume with red stockings and a cap in national colors. Separately in London Brig Gen G Beeley a former British secretary of war was reported wounded in France via a Paris telegram to the Daily Express.

In Philadelphia a naval officer Frederick Alexander and Miss Louise Jones died in an expensive Bellevue Stratford suite. Alexander died of apoplexy. Jones shot herself after aiding him. A note named Lt. Colton and a NY lodging note surfaced. the couple reportedly registered as Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Alexander.
Police searched for the killer who fired through an open window last night fatally wounding Mrs. Lyman Hudson in Belair as she slept beside her husband. Authorities believe the attack was a mistake, possibly due to confusion with another room and recent quarrels with foreigners. The case sparked a vengeance motive theory and ongoing investigation.
