Governor A V Donahey pardons and orders immediate release of John E Hager of Willoughby from Stark co workhouse despite his prior escape five days before. Superintendent John Boyer faced reprimand for not following the pardon mandate and releasing Hager who had been held nearly three weeks after a June 1 pardon urged by Prohibition Commissioner B McDonald and Mrs Donahey.

Thelma Brady aged 16 vanished Friday night and was found Monday in Erie, Pennsylvania. Her father W P Brady traced the case by telegraphing friends in Erie and locating Thelma and her husband Paul Murphy of Canton. He brought them home to 605 9th St NE.
A mysterious bomb explosion in the county building injured five women and seven men and led to the arrest of four men. County Treasurer Godfrey Fiiewald suspects the blast was part of a payroll robbery plan after a $20,000 Detroit News payroll heist. Police arrived shortly after the explosion, aided by a tested alarm system.

Donn Byrne leading Irish novelist killed when his automobile overturned and plunged into a river between Marborough and Timoleague in Clonakilty Ireland. He was driving from Court MacSherry to Coolmar Castile, a recent purchase, and was trapped beneath three feet of water. Born Brian Oswald Donn Byrne in New York City November 20 1889 he studied at University College Dublin and in Paris and Leipzig. He married Dorothy Cadogan in 1911 and later worked for the Brooklyn Daily Eagle and New York Sun. His notable works include Messer Barco Polo Hangman s House Blind Rafferty and Crusade.
June 19 report from Youngstown states Mrs Lawrence Hollaway 23 of Leetonia was killed in a two car collision while her husband was seriously injured. The other driver Stanley Speck 25 of Barberton was arrested and held pending investigation.
Denby Jr aged 27 nephew of former Secretary of the Navy Ed Denby and son in law of Senator David A Reed of Pennsylvania becomes the new assistant United States district attorney in Philadelphia.
Miss Amelia Earhart Wilmer Stultz and Lou Gordon arrived in London at 6 20 PM to cheers after a motor trip from Southampton. Earhart’s Friendship landed at Woolston at 7 20 AM from Barryport covering 135 miles in 2 hours 3 minutes to a crowd of onlookers and schoolchildren.
Bert Acosta crashed at Roosevelt Field late Monday while stunting Charles A. Levine's Fokker Universal. Passengers Miss Dona Fay and Mrs. Dorothy Walker were slightly injured. Acosta was shaken but unharmed. The aircraft was wrecked and had recently been grounded at Curtiss Field for stunt flights.
Walter Brooks and passenger Walter Harleman survived a mid loop engine loss at 1500 feet when Brooks righted the craft and made an easy landing in Allentown Pennsylvania.
