William E. Weber of Marion sues police chief over seized car claiming rightful ownership. Weber, a former hotel proprietor now owning a Marion hotel, asserts police acted in confiscating an automobile reportedly stolen from Cleveland. owner not located. The suit seeks court to name the proper owner.
Promoter Tex Rickard reports counterfeit tickets for the Dempsey Carpentier bout appear in several cities. Buyers are warned to shun street sales and use only authorized agencies. In Columbus on June 17 the Ohio Supreme Court by a 4 to 3 vote upheld the emergency clause of the Dunn act approving state department reorganizations. Justices Jones Matthias Hough and Robinson supported the emergency clause with dissents by Chief Justice Marshall Wanamaker and Johnson. Governor Davis called the decision a major victory for the people as it enables immediate statewide reorganization to improve efficiency and cut costs. The act, effective July 1, creates eight departments led by a governor-appointed cabinet.
Joseph S. Schwartz aged 34 of 2649 Robinson Street and William J. Morrow aged 24 of 2144 Fernonst Philadelphia were arrested in Reading on charges of swindling. They offered ten $30 and ten $20 tickets for the Dempsey Carpentier fight in Jersey City on July 2 for 450 dollars and later 400 dollars to another buyer. Tex Rickard's representatives said the tickets are counterfeits.
Mrs. Cora McPeak denied claims of a twin sister testifying against her for child neglect. Juvenile Judge Abe Ake sentenced her to an indeterminate term at Marysville Reformatory. Boarder Fred Price received 60 days in Stark County Workhouse. Three children go to Fairmount Home. an older boy to private Canton home under supervision.

Ed FR Bender Canton restaurateur told a Toledo gathering of the Ohio State Restaurant association that he proposed giving workers a share of profits if they turned over earnings to him. He blamed patrons for tipping and called on managers to curb the practice. Bender was elected second vice president. J O Mills of Columbus and Cleveland named president. The convention endorsed a national cooking school and will petition the National Restaurant association to establish training for cooks in dining rooms.

Kaber, while County Prosecutor Stanton plans to grill an east-end man tied to Mrs Eva Kaber and Mrs Colavito in a multi‑defendant murder case. Separate arbitration on a 1921 streetcar wage scale unfolds with hearings, witness testimonies, and a possible vote on a proposed solution.
Rumors that A. W. Freeman head of the state health department would become city health commissioner were dispelled by Mayor Herman R. Witter. Denver June 17 A campaign to organize the steel industry will be outlined at the American Federation of Labor steel convention in Denver next Sunday. Heads of all 24 international unions involved in the last steel strike will participate. David C Davies vice president of the Amalgamated Association predicted another wage cut for steel workers.

A new free employment office at 317 Second Street SW under the central welfare committee of Canton operates under Edwin G Eklund. Frank H Brenneman heads the bureau which has already placed over 200 people, 63 permanently, in about five weeks.
