Los Angeles dentist Dr. Thomas W. Young, 46, confessed to murdering his wife, 87, by suffocating her with somnoform gas and burying the body in a cistern at a cabin. He recalled luring her with whiskey, placing a cone over her mouth, and disposing of the corpse with tarpaulin.
Nicholas Pucci, 27, Yellow Cab Co. driver, was found dead beneath his overturned cab at the foot of an embankment, near North Cant on early Sunday. Coroner McQuate ruled suffocation from the cab door pinning his windpipe. the body was discovered by a Canton Akron bus driver at 5:40 a.m. after Pucci had possibly been dead two to three hours.
A longtime head of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers who died Friday will be buried today. Labor leaders and railway unions plan services at Euclid Cemetery with rail transportation officials in attendance. The funeral follows a career leading the engineers' union through decades of labor activity and industry change.

Julus Kruttschnitt longtime director and retired chairman of the executive committee of the Southern Pacific lines died at Presbyterian Hospital after a sudden heart failure. He was 71 and had been recovering from a minor operation performed the previous week.
In Toledo two foreign aviators Mau rius Devos and Anton DePauli were killed when a rotary engine test plane crashed into a freight car in the Pennsylvania yards. The accident occurred during flight testing yesterday.
Leonard Miller, Ravenna taxi driver, was shot Sunday night at R Bradly Lake near Alliance by an unknown assailant believed to be a taxi driver. Police in Alliance and Canton were alerted to locate the suspect who fled toward Alliance in a machine with license number 615,267.
Delaware welfare director Harper will present diplomas to 60 girls graduating in eighth grade work at the Girls Industrial School on Wednesday afternoon. In Athens, early arrivals pointed to about 2,000 students for Ohio University summer school. In Pomeroy, women joined men picketing cooperative mines and unions returning to 1917 scale.
Canton area law requires all rod and reel fishermen to hold a license starting with the bass season. Special officers will assist wardens on lakes to enforce the new rule. Exemptions apply to still fishing with no reel and to those under 18 or fishing from owned land. License fees are $1.10 for Ohio residents and $2.25 for non residents.
In Lorain Ohio on June 15 Agnes Merrick six year old daughter of Mr and Mrs William Merrick was burned to death while playing with matches in the yard of her home as playmates tried to beat out the flames with their hands.
W. E. Wise was arrested on a speeding charge and fined $20 plus costs in criminal court. The incident reflects a routine enforcement action by local law authorities.
Cleveland June 15 Rotarians from twelve to fifteen thousand are expected to register today at Public Hall as the fifteenth annual Rotary International convention opens with a pageant on the evolution of the organizations ideals. Everett W. Hill will deliver the annual address tomorrow morning stressing service as the basis of all enterprise. The city is decked with flags and emblems for the event.
Verne Cross, 14, of 806 Bedford at SW, suffered lacerations on his right leg when bitten by a dog Monday morning. He was taken to Aultman hospital as police investigated. A neighborhood search by police failed to locate the dog.
The Thayer Military band stages its second open air concert on Tuesday evening on the lawn of Mr. A. M. Lantz at 1220 14th Street NW. William Strassner, Director, will oversee the event to benefit residents of the NW section.
