Potters Frolic at Meyers Lake

Potters from Ohio Pennsylvania and West Virginia gathered at Meyers Lake Canton for the sixth annual potters picnic. By midmorning over 7000 attendees rose to about 15 099 as baby show and 28 item program occupied the afternoon. Sidewalk Collapse Injures Twenty in Elmira

A fifteen foot section of temporary sidewalk collapsed beside a building under construction at a busy Elmira intersection. About fifty people fell into the excavation as the structure fell during the late afternoon rush. Twenty were in hospitals with injuries. five are in serious condition.

Schubach Wills Probed After Fatal Orrville Crash

John and Mrs. Schubach died in an Orrville area accident. Their wills, filed for probate, leave most property to each other. Mrs Schubach’s will bequeaths her estate to her husband. Mr Schubach leaves the family home and Sanitary Milk Co stock to his wife, with the remainder in trust for their five children. Canton Bank & Trust Co. named executor and trustee of the fund.

Canton patrolman drowned when fishing boat capsizes on Wings Foot Lake

Park Booth 35 a patrolman for Canton Police drowned Saturday at Wings Foot Lake after his boat overturned during a fishing trip. He became entangled in tackle and died after rescue efforts and hospital treatment failed. Zirhut and a woman identified as Ethel Corder survived. Booth's body was recovered from the overturned craft. Booth had served since 1925 and is survived by his wife Ruth.

Three Drowned In Lake Erie Near Chagrin River

Three youths perished when a small sailboat overturned in Lake Erie near the Chagrin River mouth. A 23 year old girl, Mise Alice Grance, was rescued after four hours in the water. Victims were William Brown John Higgins and Robert Burington. Rescue diver Gordon P Manning of Highland Park Michigan aided the search while sailing an auxiliary schooner from New York to Detroit.
