Fashion Dictates Copyright in 1925 Canton Daily News
New York reports describe the era’s fashion at seaside resorts with wide brimmed hats, bulging umbrellas, large underarm bags, and chiffon sun shades. Women arriving from abroad wear crepe de chine ensembles with pleated skirts, matching coats, and bold color accents in buttonholes and silk trims. The piece notes bright knit pullovers with bandeaux for tennis and England’s trend of wide bottomed trousers for women players, as tubular pantaloons resemble a divided skirt at rest.
