Alex Popa was fined 200 dollars plus costs after arraignment before Justice of Peace Heminger on a federal prohibition amendment violation. He was arrested Saturday on a North Canton area farm where deputies seized about 12 gallons of raisin jack three barrels of mash and about 100 pounds of raisins.

Paris reports French forces under General Gouroud entered Damascus, seat of Emir Feisal's government, after a brief battle on the outskirts. A native emissary told the French there would be no further resistance. Gourod's troops occupy the foreign quarter and control the Damascus to Cilicia railroad. Feisal fled into the hills. no effort to seize him was made.
A Sunday afternoon concert by Thayer’s military band at Nimisila Park drew the largest audience of the season. Guest singer Miss Susanna Frantz, niece of band director William Strassner, performed and will sing next Sunday at Waterworks Park with the band. M. H. Shane of 529 Third Street Southwest sustained a fractured leg Sunday morning when his horse, terrified, ran onto Rex Avenue and Tenth Street Northeast. The horse slipped and threw him to the pavement. he was taken to Mercy hospital where Dr. H. M. Sechuffel attended him.
Paris July 26 Myron T Herrick on a special mission from the United States was made a citizen of Paris today by M Autrand municipal clerk in the Hotel Deville ceremony attended by prominent figures including former President Poincare the Prince of Monaco Premier Millerand and other high officials. The municipal building was decorated with the tri color and the stars and stripes.
State officials in Columbus dismiss a proposal to form Ohio's 89th county from parts of Coshocton Guernsey and Tuscarawas counties to place Newcomerstown as county seat. A bill reportedly prepared by a village solicitor and the Newcomerstown chamber secretary would carve the area around Newcomerstown into a new county. Five armed men entered La Creden Union bank in Central Falls Rhode Island shortly after opening today seized cashier Omar Collette bound and gagged him and fled with fifteen thousand dollars in cash. A girl discovering the cashier’s plight alerted police who issued a general alarm for the robbers.

George Marty eighteen residing northeast of Alliance was seriously injured when his motorcycle was struck by a car north of Louisville Sunday afternoon.
