John A. Hennessy, invited by Col. Roosevelt to seek New York governor on the Bull Moose ticket, refused to be the candidate of any party that uses unfair attacks on President Wilson. He said he would run in New York state as a regular Democrat or not at all, amid talk he might be groomed for state comptroller.
Mme Caillaux suffers a fainting spell during a Paris hearing and is revived with difficulty. Albanel prepares to confront Judge Dagoury as the proceedings unfold.
Paris July 25. Mme Caillaux faints in court as burning love letters from Joseph Caillaux to her before marriage are read. The notes reveal intimate vows and kisses while the trial for the murder of Gaston Calmette moves toward a dramatic confrontation with Judge Albanel and associates.
Akron July 25 Cox will deliver a blunt political address next Wednesday evening promising to strike back at his critics. Rockwell said the governor will not mince words and will answer detractors who have attacked his administration. The day includes a Kent State Normal School commencement in the afternoon prior to the Akron address.

Police noted a man leaving the area from a car that had pulled up earlier. investigators aim to identify the vehicle. The building had recently been bought by Herman Schneidler from L. P. D. Yost.
Deputy Sheriff Dickerhoof will bring Cecil Taylor from Greely Colorado after arrest on assault and battery with intent to kill. Taylor will be released on a $1000 bond signed by his father C L Taylor with Taylor to sign as principal on arrival in Canton Saturday night.
The board of education debated hiring a technical expert to inspect two new buildings and a high school. H B Webber urged a permanent post while Harmony urged temporary status for Superintendent Oscar Steiner to avoid displacing him. Clark Wise were tasked to evaluate viability and candidates as the district controls about 1.5 million dollars.
Miss Mary E. Leach fifty three longtime Canton public school teacher died Saturday at Aultman hospital after a period of confinement for overwork. She taught first and second grades at Market av school and was active in First M E church and Y M C A. Survived by brother William Leach of Litchfield. Funeral Sunday First Methodist Church Canton. Burial in Litchfield Tuesday.
Officer Skotnicky detained Thomas Tapre Julia Juber and Mary Hasat on Saturday morning on charges of peddling without a license. Frank Lupsen, operator of a Gar geldav Sk general store, filed the charge.
A Roumanian woman with a week old baby sat in the courthouse hall until Deputy Sheriff Norwood used a jail prisoner as interpreter. Prisoner Joe Taub, jailed for a board bill debt, identified his wife who came to have him released.
A. M. Hickey Jacob Kloss Casimer Hug R. S. Bell Walter H. Double and Henry Mann were elected Friday evening as directors for the Canton Chamber of Commerce Retail Merchants association. The 81 member organization will organize Monday at 1 p.m. with two vice presidents and a treasurer to be chosen. The vote was hotly contested as about 50 members attended.
Trustees of the Charity Rotch Home will not plan further until they receive a proposition from the Florence Crittenden League. Secretary George Kratsch, in Canton, said they have something in view but wait for definite terms from the Florence Crittenden League.
Daniel Warstler of 1448 Garfielday SW was granted 1140 for injuries while employed by Republic Stamping Enameling Co. The state industrial commission also paid medical and hospital bills totaling 55.50. Other Stark County claims included Langanke 45.18 and Kein ze 124.00 among others.
Columbus Ylanche Fabin a nineteen year old from Liondale who deserted her baby was sentenced to a suspended one year term after the picture show incident.
A secret conference occurred Friday night in the Canton Savings and Loan building between city councilmen and N O T officials. Councilman Jackman, a deputy sheriff, threatened a Daily News reporter with arrest if he returned. Saturday’s investigation found N O T proposals to offer universal transfers on interurban cars within a five cent limit. The council reportedly opposed granting a franchise without concessions and the meeting remained tightly sealed. Almost all councilmen attended except A Carr and Frank DeCorps.
John C Welty attorney for the traction company Charles Currie general manager and Dan Scanlon local superintendent attended a private council meeting. The Daily News reporter was barred at the door by councilmen Ball Schrantz and Jackman and told the meeting was private. They refused to discuss public business and indicated no compromise was reached regarding a terminal franchise with N O T.
The McKinley Memorial Association in Canton may not move the old Mother McKinley Home to the memorial grounds. Frederick Hartzell says the site cannot be altered, though the group would maintain the house if land adjoining the memorial were purchased. Holden, eager to buy and relocate the home, awaits an official decision and land availability.
A fifteen year old Hungarian girl from Alliance planned to wed Jacob Boloman in Canton. The couple appeared at probate court where she stated she was sixteen but the judge later found she had not yet reached sixteen and the marriage license was refused.

Tax lists for 1914 completed and open for inspection in the District Board of Assessors office at the Canton Court House Ohio. Complaints against valuations or assessments not set by The Tax Commission of Ohio will be heard by the District Board of Complaints starting August 1 1914 with daily sessions for a period to be fixed by The State Tax Commission.
