A Chicago dirigible crash killed Milton Norton and injured several others at the Illinois Trust and Savings Bank. Officials indicate arrests of two Goodyear executives are planned as investigators probe the explosion and collapse.
A naval officer was jailed after a high speed street incident in Canton. J A Boettner and a passenger were taken into custody by Wing Foot Station officers for driving a vehicle without a license, with the officer later connected to Wing Foot quarters.

The collision damaged the car severely. a bulldog named Scotty was unharmed. fire officials cited clothing combustion as the cause of the ensuing fire.
London July 22. The Pall Mall Gazette estimates three hundred thousand miners have joined the strike in the English and Welsh coalfields. From £00 to 6,000 sailors from the British fleet are pumping out mines flooded by the strikers, mostly in the north of England.
Washington reports show President Wilson seeking senate approval for an American member on the allied reparations committee before treaty ratification. The Senate Foreign Relations Committee declined the request by eight to seven, prompting renewed debate on the peace treaty and league provisions. Wilson, ill and confined to bed, emphasized the meetings with Republicans as crucial while the rebuff drew attention to the administration’s strategy.
