Rep M A Warnes of Jersburg Democrat argues the new tax plan may be excessive and urges reducing the road levy and amending the Hite law. He notes the present levy would raise far more than needed and suggests a cautious approach at the upcoming special session.
Thomas Call and Fred Fete were arrested near Howenstine Sun for speeding. Constable Theodore Eversole made the arrests and they appeared in Justice Correll's court. Each was fined $5 costs. no additional action was taken.
Three generations of the McKay family were killed or hurt when an auto rammed a tree near Morgantown West Virginia. Victims include Winfield McKay sixty five of Ravenswood the dentist Dr H C McKay of Fairmont and Winfield McKay seven and Dorothy McKay ten children of the doctor John Wright of Baltimore was seriously injured two others escaped with minor injuries.
City engineer Sarver says contracts for pavement on 6th Street SW and NW likely to be let next Monday to speed western thoroughfares. Other street paving projects and sewer work planned. council may issue certificates of indebtedness to finish 6th Street SW toward Aultman hospital this year.
Plans for forming a Chamber of Commerce in Canton were discussed led by F M Shelton a Central high school head.
