In Northampton Massachusetts on July 20 Calvin Coolidge Jr son of the president was taken to his final resting place in Plymouth Vermont. Simple services were held at the Congregational church with Dr Kenneth Wells reading the 23rd Psalm. Family, officials, and caretakers from the White House and cabinet attended as the funeral train arrived. A pink rose covered casket and mourners, including six Marines from the Mayflower, accompanied the procession to the hearse and eventual burial in the Coolidge family plot.
