Alfred Cole an aged man living on 1639 Houselay SE fought off two assailants on 18th Street SE near the A M E church. They took $17 and a pocketbook while one choked him. Cole stabbed one robber in the arm during the struggle and kept his watch as the pair fled. He reported the holdup to police.
Five newsboys from Cleveland were arrested by police Saturday night for obstructing the sidewalk. Police Chief Lengel had warned them about stacking bundles of papers on the curb, but they did not obey. The youths named are Edward Daurova, Joe Pucci, Charles Myers, and Morris Zerner.
