John Franklin Emmons pleaded guilty before Judge Abe Monday to bigamy. He was sentenced to one to seven years in the penitentiary. Emmons married in Paulding in 1905 and again in Canton in 1913. Both wives are living but neither appeared in court. He said he had been informed that his first wife had secured a divorce.

Judge Day issues alternative writ ordering Safety Director Kunkel to appear July 20 to reinstate R. F. Patterson to the Canton police force or justify refusal. New York July 6 United Press describes an ongoing inquest into the death of Mrs. Louise Bailey at Dr. Edwin Carman’s Freeport Long Island home. Dist Atty Smith aims to trace Bailey’s movements from last Tuesday to the fatal shot through Carman’s office window.
