Drownings at Meyers Lake and Stanley Park Claim Two Men
Two drownings occurred Monday at Meyers Lake in Alliance and Stanley Park pool in Alliance. Roy W. Winkler 29 of New Philadelphia and Frank Fryberger 22 of Cuyahoga Falls died after heavy rip currents and cold water plus medical issues. Horton swam to aid Winkler and life saver Foley helped reach safety. Fryberger disappeared under water and was found two hours later.

Holiday Toll In Indiana Rises Over Fourth Weekend
In Indianapolis on July 6 a death toll from Independence Day weekend reached 34 with at least 50 injured. Autos caused most casualties, drownings followed, an airplane crash claimed two lives, and a parachute jumper died when her chute failed to open.
