Two deaths occurred in the county between 8 p m Sunday and 5 a m Monday. Beulah Barker the only child of Mr and Mrs William Barker of Fairhope was found dead in a cistern behind her home after slipping on ice while drawing water. John McKenzie 32 R F D No 4 Canton alumnus of United Furnace Co died after benzol fumes felled him at the plant. Coroner Douds ruled the benzol fumes caused heart failure in McKenzie. Burial plans for Barker were announced for Westlawn Cemetery.
Wholesale butter gained two and half cents to 40 1/2 cents per pound while retail stays at 44 cents. Parsley falls to five and ten cents a bunch. Endive trimmed five cents to 15 cents a pound. Parsnips up one cent, now six cents a pound at retail.

J A Rice says he will not sell his farm to the city for 25000 and withdraws the option as the council plans condemnation. City solicitor disputes the withdrawal while noting the city offered 17500 previously and the option remains valid until Feb 28.
