Steubenville Ohio January 27 1931 Mingo Junction officer William Snyder was shot by bootlegger Vincenzo Campagna who fled after the confrontation. Officer Hensley and Snyder had arrested Campagna with a suitcase full of liquor. Campagna escaped and no trace was found.

Early today in Maryland five people died when an automobile went off a bridge and struck the guard rail before plunging 35 feet into Wills Creek near Cumberland. William Ss. Hall 36 died Friday night in Mercy hospital from injuries in an accident crossing Pennsylvania tracks at Fifth Street NE. He was struck by a freight train. both legs were amputated.
