Canton records the season's first coaster fatality as Walter King 11 of 2283rd St NW Aultman Annex hospital 7 30 AM Friday died after his sled was struck by an automobile driven by William Heatherington 162 Lincoln Ave NW Thursday evening 7 45 at Trist and Elgin Ave NW Heatherington transported the boy to hospital and reported the crash to police exonerated of any wrongdoing.
Oriental police were upheld by a British court after a three day trial. Indian editors of a local newspaper were required to post bonds to refrain from attacking Hawkshaw police and were warned about future coverage of law officers. The international force includes Chinese Indian police and British personnel.
Berlin January 25 German finance expert Dr Simon of the Anglo Austrian Bank says Germany can aid financial revival if it abandons sentiment and follows expert counsel. He spoke to a select group as Austria works with the League of Nations on currency restoration and Paris plans.
Benjamin Busby a 23 year old Toronto laborer died in the city hospital after burns suffered when a cane upset and steam escaped three weeks ago near Liverpool Ohio. He had been in the hospital since the incident.

They ride a special car to Atlanta to begin terms ranging from months to two years, guarded by U. S. marshals. Mrs. Remus plans to lease a home in Atlanta during his incarceration.
Secretary of State Brown would require personal consent of presidential candidates for individual delegates. Representative Theodore E. Burton announces he will not oppose the Republican committee’s ruling yet refuses to become a second choice candidate for president. He also critiques Ohio law on delegate selection and says he will not seek district delegate election, aiming for reelection to Congress.
Clyde Conger Pittsburg was seized by police at the Canton depot late Thursday night on suspicion. He allegedly carried a revolver and several cartridges were found in his coat pocket while a revolver was found in his suitcase. He is to be questioned Friday afternoon.

A 14 year old schoolboy confessed to writing a threatening letter to the father of a 17 year old girl demanding 1000 dollars and forbidding her to see other boys. He claimed it was all in fun and was remanded to juvenile court after handwriting was matched to his exam papers. He attends Liberty avenue SE school.
In Erlin on January 25 a new prison regime limits inmates to a monthly bath a fortnightly linen change and less than a quarter pound of meat per week. The stricter rations draw criticism as newspapers debate decency versus crime control.
LISHON January 25 a general strike of Portuguese postal and tele graph employees went into effect today.
The Canton Daily News is highlighted for its growth as a metropolitan paper. It now runs four editions daily plus a 4 30 p m late pink edition with market and sports news, deterring out of town competition. Local merchants benefit as Canton gains a distinctive newspaper field and better business prospects. Reason No. 6 appears tomorrow.
James Anthony, 27, of Cleveland, held on $50 000 bond in a federal case reopened over a Canton slaying. Anthony is charged with conspiracy to shoot a federal witness Paul Kitzig, 19, of Canton, at Meyers Lake on Aug 10 1921. He pleaded not guilty and awaits a hearing next Thursday.
John Dyer who used the name James Ryan in St Louis is identified as the Massillon man missing from his home for four years. He disappeared from Massillon in 1919 and later admitted his identity after police comparison of descriptions. He recalls little about friends here and claimed to have met Dyer in Chicago.
Senator James A. Reed of Missouri will arrive from Washington within 48 hours to formally announce his candidacy for the Democratic nomination for president. Headquarters will be opened in St. Louis with Reed's former senatorial campaign manager in charge. Democratic state chairman Frank Farris reiterates support for William G. McAdoo.
Edward Crosby, a Negro physician from Detroit, filed with the Interstate Commerce Commission for 120000 damages alleging discrimination based on color. He claims that during 1922 and 1923 the Seaboard Air Line Southern Louisville and Nashville St Louis San Francisco railroads and the Pullman company denied him accommodations accorded white passengers in violation of federal law.
Paris reports Mary F. Sinclair barricaded in a luxury hotel refusing interviews about Teapot Dome. Heavily traveled to Europe, Sinclair says he will not be disturbed until 11:30 AM then remains uncontactable. In Washington Albert Fall defends himself and claims no link between a $100,000 loan and a California naval lease.
Manila January 25. The Colurums, a fanatical group, have reached the Mincanoan mainland from Strigao and are said to be recruiting and burning between Placer and Mainit. Gov Gen Wood plans reinforcements and possible regular troops as the revolt may spread. His yacht sails 150 constabulary to Surigao. Rizal’s life revival rumor spreads widely.
Ida Hughes faces death by hanging after a brief trial in Atlanta Georgia for killing her mother in law. Judge G H Howard will sentence her after a three hour jury deliberation. Hughes and M C Hughes were in Moes when the crime occurred a bit over a month ago.

W McMullan told Belfast labor supporters that a British Labor government would end subsidies supporting the Belfast Parliament.
