Mayor Stolberg favors forcing the N O T to provide better car service in Canon. He rejects shared tracks or granting a franchise to a competing firm. He has one or two undisclosed ideas he believes will improve transit.
Canton officials pursue latest prevention methods for electrolysis damaging water mains. Mayor Stolberg cites N O T franchise limits while planning measures to pressure the company, including possible extensions and enforcement actions to protect city utilities.
A large turnout at Maloney's hall heard H Douglas general manager of the NO F and E and H Clinedinst general claim agent stress safety. About 100 attended the morning session and 150 the evening as speakers urged workers to keep care and accuracy to reduce incidents and protect boarding crews.

J C Lupher superintendent of the Fairmount Children's Home said he would offer testimony to clear himself if indicted by a grand jury set for a special session. Several women employees allege he forced advances, subjected them to harsh treatment, and one was kept under guard by matrons after accusing him.
Mrs. James Borden Harriman and other Federal Industrial Relations Commission members chaired hearings at city hall in New York on garment industry protocol from the 1910 strike. The protocol is praised as a model for settlements of other strikes.
Senator Pomerene met Whitacre in Washington to discuss Ohio politics. Whitacre, determined to oppose Gov. Cox, urged striking the Cox political machine now, warning of Tammany Hall in Ohio. The pair discussed party unity and public affairs as McCulloch announced a return bid for Congress.
Two men hit by Pennsylvania trains between Friday and Saturday near Canton and Carnahan havе died or are near death in Mercy hospital. One, about 45, was found at Maximo east of Canton and brought by ambulance. the other, a 25 year old Italian, was struck at Carnahanha crossing and transported to Mercy hospital. Both remained unconscious by 2 pm Saturday.

Councilman Witter will lead a newly formed committee to survey the W. Tusc Street area about the planned repaving. Other members named are not residents of the street.
A meeting of about 75 property owners in the police court room discussed widening and repaving Tuscarawiss W. A unanimous resolution appointed four nonresidents to join the streets and alleys committee chair, to gauge true sentiment on widening and materials. Johnson Sherrick elected chairman. Dr. C. A. LaMont secretary.
Oscar Bowen, wanted in the shooting in Tuscarawas, was arrested in a Garfield Avenue saloon by Detectives Reed and Boar. Bowen awaited cash to flee the city. he waived examination and was bound over to the grand jury with bond set at 866 dollars. Arden Jackson and May Hamilton were held on witness bonds.
The funeral for Mrs. Margaret Cowan aged sixty four who died Wednesday at her home 1813 Tuscarawas street was held Saturday morning with burial at Calvary Cemetery locals note.
Police dispatched entire night force to George Double's jewelry store after reports of thieves. Officers Tidwell and Captain Patterson found a rear door wide open and a search by two officers with lights revealed no burglary. No items were disturbed.
Prosecutor Pontius on behalf of the county commissioners filed suit in common pleas court Saturday against the N. O. T. to collect 765 dollars in rent for two franchise lines Canton Akron and Massillon Navarre. The Canton Akron rent totals 605 dollars and Massillon Navarre rent 160 dollars.
Former Mayor Harry Schilling was ordered by common pleas court to pay attorney fees after a judgement of 375 dollars in favor of Attorney Oscar M. Abt. Abt argued the fees stemmed from helping Attorney Evernett L. Mills in the case, with Schilling previously promising 400 dollars and claiming only 125 paid.
William Campbell, a Virginian condemned for murdering George Muir after a quarrel over a woman, is executed in Montreal. Just as the trap door fell a jail guard fainted, causing a scene and precaution. Campbell had been sought in Cincinnati for alleged murders of two settlement workers. The notice also promotes The Little Giant Tractor and Grader from Crawford Deal's windows.
