Death Surprises Daughter As Mother Dies in Waiting Room
Mrs. Matilda Garthwaite, 62, wife of Walter Garthwaite of 216 Fifth Street NE, died of a cerebral hemorrhage in the Canton waiting room of the public square on Friday evening. Her daughter Tillie McNulty of Leetonia had returned from a planned surprise. Fay Garthwaite cared for their mother in the hall, and the death was pronounced by Dr. L. D. Stoner with coroner Douds. Surviving are two sons Walter Jr. and Warren, four daughters, and a brother James Hudson.
