Conference in Canton at the First Methodist church February 9 and 16 aims to strengthen efficiency in rural church missions funds. Secretaries and district leaders from national boards will attend with Rev Charles O Gill and Ohio State University President W O Thompson speaking on Farm Welfare. The event is held with the Ohio Rural Life Association.
Superintendent J J Armstrong of Stark county rural schools traveled to Ravenna to confer with U S Commissioner P P Claxton about securing Claxton as the principal speaker for a big Canton gathering in February. If successful, Claxton would speak February 13. other speakers are planned if he is unavailable.

From Rome reports Count Filippo Resta and his wife and three sons survived the Avezzano earthquake after the count dug for 15 hours to reach them. A fourth son, a physician, was saved and joined relief, while refugees total about 600 arriving in Rome.
