Six masked gunmen in two cars halted 36 employees of the Wea St Louis Trust Co in St Louis Missouri and escaped with 76240 after tying money for transfer to the federal reserve bank. The raid occurred within five blocks of the district police station.

Without work or money 18 year old Kate Silagie of Macon Georgia roamed Columbus streets until exhausted and collapsed on the sidewalk near the State Capitol last night She was taken to a hospital where she is recovering today.
A massive explosion at the Texas company refinery in Port Arthur killed eight men and wounded many others. Six of the dead were identified, including W. C. Moye of Beaumont and J. W Srons of Weatherford Oklahoma, with two additional bodies unidentified. Thirty others were reported burned and hospitalized as investigators combed the ruins.
