Quarrel Over Woman Ends In Man's Death
A late night drinking party ended in a fatal stabbing of Harold Harting 24 of Van Wert Ohio after a quarrel over a woman with Grady Starnes 29 of Greenville South Carolina. Starnes was charged with first degree murder and held without bond. The incident occurred at 609 Cleveland Ave SW around 6 45 Sunday morning. Mrs Vera Harting identified as Harting widow and witness was held as material witness.

George Nauman taken by death at 74 in Canton
George J. Nauman seventy four oldest Grand Army band member died at home 302 Lincoln Ave NW Canton Monday at 11 15 a m of cerebral hemorrhage. He worked Friday at Elbel plant but could not go Saturday. Nauman lived in Canton fifty four years and played in the Grand Army band for fifty three years. He played the euphonium and joined the band on all its trips to the Pacific coast and Washington. He and Mrs Nauman observed their fiftieth wedding anniversary December 22 1920. They were married in Canton by Rev Peter Herbruck. He was a foreman machinist at the Ebel plant for 25 years. He would have been seventy five in May. Survived by wife Mary J and three daughters Mrs Ida E Wright Northfield Ohio Mrs Nora E Garity Canton Miss Dorothy M Nauman of the home. Funeral Thursday at 2 pm at the home with Rev C D Besch Zion Lutheran church in charge. Burial Westlawn.
