First reports show amounts pledged totaling near 9 874.12 with a projected total of 100 000 by the eve ning. Campaigners say they won extra supplies and will push an intensive drive through the evening as Morgan's workers led the timed events.
A mass meeting at the Y M C A heard campaign workers report $72 550 76 has been raised for Cantons Victory Funds. The sum excludes subscriptions by merchants and other city men, with a total listed at 306 64 as the result of the drive.
The American Army announces a plot to evade armistice terms. German and allied entities allegedly moved supplies and mail through corporations and individuals. Food experts are to probe duplicity and study the situation with Beanes and Lieutenant C. B50n named for examinations.

Berne Jan 15 A German commission on Kaiser Wilhelm II recommends bringing the former ruler to trial for war responsibility. The finding, presented by Herr Kautsky, cites marginal notes in the Kaiser’s handwriting on foreign office documents as evidence he was a principal war maker.

Mrs. Madeline Turner failed to win $15,000 damages for alleged alienation of her husband’s affections against Mrs. Anna P Holmes. The jury verdict came Tuesday, and Charles F Turner is jailed on a diamond theft charge from 1910. The arrest followed a Justice court affidavit by Samuel T Holmes.

Canton chapter of the American Red Cross announces a civilian relief department program to locate overseas soldiers for anxious relatives. Already several soldiers have been located and graves of Canton men identified. A special committee is named to oversee the effort.
Canton and Massillon men are listed in the official casualty report. Lieutenant I D Peters WIA on November 6 in Europe earns mention through his Canton ties and Camp Gordon training. Private Karl W Reed is recorded as killed in action in October.
Judge A P Thom for railroad executives questioned the constitutionality of former Railway Director McAdoo's five year extension of federal control before the Senate Interstate Commerce Committee. He asked what constitutional provision allows such an experiment and warned Congress could be coerced into permanent government ownership by mounting financial obligations through 1924.

Berlin reports say Spartacides on a building roof fired into a street crowd and attacked the Franzer barracks. Over 1,000 Spartacides have been arrested as government troops restore order and prepare for Sunday's national assembly elections.
Judge Walter D. Meals of Cleveland told the Ohio Good Roads Federation and allied associations that the state should control build and maintain the entire Ohio road system. He urged a non partisan three member board to appoint a state highway commissioner and tax law changes to fund construction with auto license fees and weight based charges.
