Washington d c January 14 the prohibition bureau released figures on the third anniversary of the 18th amendment showing arrests for drunkenness down sixty percent nearly a million gallons of liquor seized thirty thousand prosecutions begun twenty thousand convictions and property seizures near thirteen million dollars costs totaled six million two hundred seventy four thousand five hundred twenty three dollars forty five cents with only about three million collected. Property seizures reached about twelve million nine hundred seven thousand six hundred ninety three dollars with ninety five hundred thousand gallons of distilled spirits and wines seized. Importations for medicinal use were only about one half of one percent of pre prohibition consumption and liquor withdrawals fell sixty percent last year. Seized property included six hundred cars forty boats twenty four wagons one airplane forty five horses and mules five motorcycles seven stocks in cash seven tracts of land and ten other items.
