Pasquale Malatesto’s home at 473 Thirteenth-st Sk gutted with furnishings loss.
A sustained blaze across Canton from Saturday night to Monday morning caused about 2000000 in damage to The Miller Co plant at Clevelanday and Ninth Street SW. A defective wiring entry is blamed. Firemen saved nearby structures despite zero temperature and gale force winds.
A gas explosion and subsequent fire damaged a building and injured residents. A husband, wife, and others were involved as authorities investigated the leak and ignition source. Firefighters fought the blaze while rescuers searched for victims.

Mrs. Christian Glick and her crippled husband remained in their cottage as flames lapped the wall, which stayed standing, while other households evacuated or sheltered in place. The blaze briefly threatened two homes at 207 Melchoir pl SW before neighbors extinguished the initial flare.
