Martins Ferry January 7 investigation began into the bombing of a double house at the Florence mine of the Y and O Coal Company. The reconditioned housing for non union families was badly damaged following a past bunk house destruction by dynamite two months earlier. A G Squibb company general manager attributed the acts to transient union sympathizers and former mine employees.

William Seevers of 221 Lawn avenue was arrested on a reckless driving charge after a Saturday night incident. Witnesses say he drove north on Market avenue and collided with machines owned by R. C. Linano at 1856 Market avenue and J. H. Jones at 800 Marion lane SW, causing damage.
Mayor C C Curtis announced Saturday night the appointment of Rev. Harry M. Kimbel as safety director and G E Mudge as service director. They take office Monday. Kimbel, resident of Canton for over 45 years, has led the Charles Street Mission for 25 years and worked in grocery. Mudge has eight years in the city service department engineering division.
