In Cleveland 84 garment factories walked out before noon after a mass meeting voted for a general strike. An estimated 4000 to 5000 workers quit as Gov. Myers Cooper offered to aid settlement if invited. Police placed the force on a 12 hour day and three men were arrested after a window smashing at Jacob Bonda Dress Co. The demonstration began with 1000 strikers in front of Bloomfield Co and a rally of thousands at Public Hall. The union demands include a 40 hour five day week a binding contract and protection against subcontractor wage practices.
